Challenge 1

Why: Vulnerable populations face a unique set of challenges when it comes to accessing healthcare. For the 2.7M uninsured Angelenos, cost alone is a huge barrier. Those living below the poverty line, without permanent addresses or reliable transportation, are less likely to be able to pay for healthcare, less likely to receive regular care, and are more likely to experience difficulty getting care. We want to change these statistics.

Mobile healthcare units bring much needed health services directly to these individuals, making it easier for them to receive the care they need. By increasing access to routine care, mobile healthcare units improve the overall health of our communities, reducing emergency room visits and hospitalizations. They build trust between providers and the community, leading to a greater sense of ownership and empowerment in the healthcare system process, and ultimately creating a more inclusive and compassionate healthcare system.

We are looking to support partners who provide mobile healthcare services for Los Angeles’ most vulnerable people.
